Living Alone
The concrete seems so hard and sterile
Sandy pebbles in a mixture of mud
No one pays attention to it
For it is here and has always been
At least since I was born
Standing the tests of time
It may crack under pressure
But determined to stay strong
Only needing what is within
No other components necessary
How does it stay so solid?
Through the rain downpour, hail, snow
Being trampled day in, day out
Run over and spit on
How can it take living all alone?
